Each state has different requirements, and they are constantly changing.  Here are some tips to find the most current info:

Florida Real Estate:  Click Here for our page on the Florida real estate license requirements.  You can also go to www.MyFloridaLicense.com for all of the details on licensure.

National Mortgage Originator:  There is a National test component and then several states also have an additional course &/or exam to take.  As of April 1, 2013 the test includes the UST component which stands for Uniform State Test.  Taking this 125 question exam will prepare you to get your license in several states without any additional exam.  Click Here to see the list of the states participating in the UST.  If your state is not on this list then you will have to take a separate state exam.  Up to date info can always be found at www.NationwideLicensingSystem.org

Applicants for the Mortgage Loan Originator license have to be over the age of 18, have a high school diploma or the equivalent, pass the 20 hour SAFE course and get at least a 75% on the national exam (there are 125 questions, but only 115 are scored, 10 are investigative questions that are not counted, but you won’t know which 10) and also pass a criminal background check/fingerprints and a credit report.
